This hands-on workshop will be led by Kweighbaye Kotee, a renowned independent film director and founder of the Bushwick Film Festival in New York.
Kweighbaye will teach you the basics of filmmaking, including how to use a professional digital video camera and simple lighting techniques. After you get familiar with the gear, Kweighbaye will guide you through producing your own mini-documentary.
This is a one-day workshop, held for the full day on 6/24. The workshop will take place at a studio in LA, as well as a park in Southern LA where you will be filming on location. All transportation will be provided.
On the evening of Sunday 6/25, Kweighbaye will host a catered screening of the edited documentary for you and your family members, so that you can view your finished work. You will also be sent a copy of your final film.
This workshop will be filmed as part of a campaign Kweighbaye is working on, that promotes gender equality in the film industry.
